Day 2 was like a picnic, all the students were chatting away, having a gala time and making it difficult for the speakers to make their presentation.
One of the smart fellows from the administration had a trick rolled up in his sleeve, he surprised us, coming from the back and confiscating the heart and soul of BBM freaks, their phones!!
For a moment we realized the fact that we are not in college, we are back in school, Yaay!
We did not really appreciate it, and as if this was not sufficient we were specially clicked by our seniors using the phone which was later displayed on the projector screen.
On a serious note, we gained some knowledge that day as well. we had varied topics of discussion all the way from the extra-curricular activities to heart breaker examination details. We were psyched to know about the strict attendance norms.
Now that we were aware of our course curriculum and various student bodies that we can join, we were distributed a copy of syllabus and our temporary identity cards.
The Syllabus was more or less like an icing to a near perfect chocolate cake (sarcasm), at the end of the day we were both curious for the first day at law school and anguished by the hectic schedule, but we are entering a professional field, its better to get used to it.
Since I always wanted to join a law school, I had done my homework on some key aspects to become a successful law professional. so without further adieu I went straight to the library and went through a book I had heard a lot about.
The name of the book is "Learning The Law" by Glanville Williams, I would request all the law students or the perspective law students to definitely go through this piece of literature.
Our librarian frowned upon me as if I had stolen his kidney, but I continued to study and finished the book, i invested quite some time in the library that day, as far as I remember, the first time after leaving school.
After gaining the firsthand experience of working in a library, I started on my way back home. On the way I was reminded by a senior friend about the article that I was planning to write.
Without wasting any time I came back home and got the details of the Journal, their requirements and started looking for a perspective topic to write upon. I might be sounding like a bookworm, but again you got to do what you got to do.
To have a better future in law you need to get that extra edge. Everyone has a LLB degree at the end of five years, apart from the extra smart ones but yes, at the end of five years what is it that you have done, which sets you out from the crowd. Its your personal incentives and initiatives which all the corporate law firms and lawyers appreciate.
Mix your work with fun, don't end up being a dork, with a pair of thick reading glasses.
Work Hard, Party Harder..
Feel free to post comments, suggestions, and if you like it, keep reading..
